(UniPhy) is a not-for-profit IPA (independent physicians association) formed through the merger of two local IPAs in January 2001. Those former IPAs, Palmetto Physicians Association and Trident IPA, were both originally chartered in 1994. While membership varies, it has remained stable between 700 and 800 members, consisting of Primary Care, Multi-Specialty and Hospital-Based physicians.
