MALDEN, MA — A Somerville man was arrested Monday and charged in a fatal shooting outside a 7-Eleven in Malden last month.
Antonio Rufo-Sanon, 19, faces a murder charge in the shooting death of 22-year-old Boston resident Daquelle Matthews.
Police responding to a report of shots fired found Matthews with multiple gunshot wounds outside the 7-Eleven on Salem Street around 9:40 p.m on Nov. 20. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Rufo-Sanon was among the passengers in a car that pulled up to the 7-Eleven that night, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's office. Surveillance video showed Matthews communicating with the men in the car before Rufo-Sanon fired a gun, fatally striking him, investigators say.
The car fled the scene and was later found at a home in Somerville, investigators say. The driver was identified as Isaiah Sautier, who was arraigned Dec. 2 on charges of accessory after the fact to murder and accessory after the fact to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the district attorney.
