WAUKESHA, WI— First lady Jill Biden will be in Waukesha Wednesday to visit with families of the victims and first responders from the Waukesha Christmas Parade.
Biden will be joined by second gentlement Douglas Emhoff and U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy, according to the White House and the city. The delegation will first visit Milwaukee before heading to Waukesha.
Biden, Emhoff and Murthy will arrive at General Mitchell International Airport at 3: 15 p.m. followed by a visit Children's Wisconsin in Milwaukee, where they will meet with frontline heath care workers who cared for patients throughout the pandemic and those injured during the Waukesha Christmas parade, the White House said.
After that, they will visit with children who will have just received the COVID-19 vaccine and their families.
"The visit is part of their continued nationwide effort urging parents and guardians to vaccinate kids ages five and up," the White House said.
Following the hospital visit, they will visit with families of the victims and first responders from the Waukesha Christmas parade at the City of Waukesha City Hall.
The Waukesha City Hall building will close at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday instead of its usual time at 4:30 p.m.
