MILFORD, MA — A Milford High School student may face criminal charges following a threat against the school last week, according to published reports.
Milford police told the Milford Daily News that the student made a statement during class described as "ambiguous." The student was sent home that day, and police are deciding whether to pursue criminal charges.
The incident follows a mass shooting at a high school in Michigan in November that left four students dead. Students at schools across the country have been charged or otherwise punished for sending threats in the wake of the Oxford shooting.
Police investigated three Whitman-Hanson Regional High School last week after they were linked to threats over Snapchat. A Dighton Middle School student was investigated for making "threatening gestures" while outside of school, police in that town reported on Monday.
