MILWAUKEE, WI — Milwaukee Brewers All-Star Jonathan Lucroy was set to visit Milwaukee on Dec. 22 to donate to the United for Waukesha Community Fund, 3rd Street Market Hall announced. The former catcher said he was devastated by the events of the Waukesha Christmas parade, when a man drove an SUV into a crowd of paradegoers on Nov. 21, killing six people and injuring more than 60. "This city means a lot to me," Lucroy said in a statement. "Hearing about the tragedy in Waukesha made me want to support the families that were affected. I want to start making a difference for the area that made me who I am today." Third Street Market Hall, Visit Milwaukee and Molson Coors will host the event at 275 W. Wisconsin Ave. from 5 to 8 p.m. All proceeds will go to the United for Waukesha Community Fund, according to an Eventbrite page. The fund has raised more than $4.4 million, according to Amy Lindner, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County. Checks up to $25,000 were being sent to families who lost a member at the Christmas parade in November, Lindner added.
