Press release from the City of Roanoke: December 14, 2021 ROANOKE, VA - There will be several downtown street closures this weekend beginning on Friday, December 17th due to events. The following streets will be closed: Dickens of a Christmas Carnival on Friday, 12/17/21, from 6 pm to 10 pm Market Street, between Norfolk Avenue and Church Avenue (closes at 3pm) Wall Street, between Salem Avenue and Campbell Avenue (closes at 3pm) Kirk Avenue, between Williamson Road and Jefferson Street (closes at 3pm; Premier Lot access maintained) Church Avenue, between Luck Avenue and Williamson Road (closes at 3pm) Luck Avenue, between Jefferson Street and 1st Street SW (closes at 4pm) Campbell Avenue, between Williamson Road and Jefferson Street (closes at 5:30pm) https://www.waze.com/events/dickens-christmas-carniva-2021-12-17 Market Street, between Norfolk Avenue and Salem Avenue (closes at 7am Saturday) 2nd Street SW, between Luck Avenue and Church Avenue (closes at 4pm) The City of Roanoke has partnered with Waze and joined the Connected Citizens Program in an effort to let citizens know about traffic impacts of capital improvement projects, special events, and planned street closures.
