TOWSON, MD —Police and medical personnel converged in the West Village area of Towson University Tuesday afternoon. Later, authorities said a student died on campus. The response was due to a medical emergency involving a student who lives on campus, Towson University personnel reported. "There is no threat to campus," the Towson University Office of Public Safety said in a statement after 4:30 p.m. "However, we ask everyone to stay away from the West Village area." Officials said a student died in his room. Merbin Andres "Dre" Carattini, 18, was found unresponsive in his room Tuesday afternoon, university authorities confirmed.
