Description
Guitar player wanted for established dance band Boogie Boulevard is an established 12 piece band which includes a 4 piece horn section. This band is full of easy going fun people ranging from 22 to 60 years old. We are strong players, most of us have gigged countless times with various groups. Some of us have even made a living on music at some point in our lives. Our cornerstone is '70's disco/funk/dance music. Of course other genres and more contemporary songs are peppered in to make us more marketable for corporate parties and weddings, which is our focus. The band plays songs by Earth, Wind, and Fire, The B-52’s, Aretha Franklin, The Commodores, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Bruno Mars, and many others. We play only live music - no backing tracks. Currently we are: Bass, Drums, Percussion, Tenor Sax, Alto sax, Trombone, 1st Trumpet, Keys #1, Keys #2, and 2 alto lead/harmony vocalists. We are looking for a solid guitar player to replace our current player who has moved on to a high paying act. Solid sense of funk chord grooves is a must. You must be able to solo here and there in a style that suits the song. We are really looking for someone who is a student of the song, keeping it pretty close to the original in it’s tone and feel. You must be willing to come to every rehearsal so we can function better as a team on stage! Rehearsals are with an amp modeler and headphones. Gigs can be a modeler or through an amp. The plan is to play twice per month, either a rehearsal or gig. No addictions or egos please. We have charts for all the songs, but tweaking is still needed for our set of over 45 songs. Check out our website at www.boogieboulevard.com for the list and hear cuts from live rehearsals. Boogie Boulevard has a great JBL PA system with wireless in ear monitoring. We also have lighting. This band is ready for any gig! We currently rehearse in North Renton every other Sunday, 3 blocks from the I-405/SR-169 interchange. To keep safe from covid, horn players & vocalists now have their own isolated booths for rehearsals. Everything is mic’d, run through a digital mixer, and monitored with provided headphones.
