HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A Budd Lake man who police say they found sleeping while parked in a no parking zone has been charged in Hackettstown with DWI.
Sgt. Darren Tynan, a spokesperson for the department, said that this past Saturday at about 11:30 p.m. a responding officer found a car sitting in a no parking zone on Little Street.
While checking on the car, Tynan wrote in a news release about the incident, the officer saw a man sleeping in the driver's seat. When responding officers reportedly woke him up, one officer said there was a scent of alcohol after they started speaking to the man.
Police later charged Richard Wehrheim of Budd Lake, 39, with DWI, careless driving and for parking in a no parking zone, Tynan said.
