PROVIDENCE, RI — As COVID-19 cases climb in Rhode Island, policy changes are coming. Gov. Dan McKee announced he will hold a news conference with the Department of Health to announce new measures on Wednesday afternoon.
The conference will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the State House. Specifics about what changes are on the way were not announced, just that there will be "a comprehensive set of actions to address an increase in COVID-19 cases and alleviate pressure on our hospital system while at the same time keeping schools open for in-person learning and preventing economic disruptions to small businesses."
Last week, McKee said he and state leaders had discussed reinstating an indoor mask requirement, and that "everything is on the table."
