Nearly 650 To Be Honored At Lewis University's Winter Graduations

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Lewis University will celebrate winter commencement ceremonies for close to 650 students on Friday and Saturday at the university's campus in Romeoville. The Winter Commencement ceremonies honor August and December graduates, the university said in a news release. Tickets are limited for the in-person events. However, the degree ceremonies and Commencement Mass will be streamed live by the Lewis University Television Network and Department of Communications, according to the university. The celebration begins Friday with the Graduate Degree Ceremony, which honors more than 400 students receiving doctoral degrees, certificates of advanced study, and master's degrees, as well as graduates of adult accelerated programs, the university said. Erika Banick, Cinnamon Bell-Williams and Siobhan Hudson Watkins will receive a doctor of education. Commeleana Addison, Stephanie Flynn, Jodie Pufundt, Sharon Rangel and Damaris Stoia will receive a doctor of nursing practice. On Saturday, Father Dennis Lewandowski, university chaplain, will celebrate the Commencement Mass. Graduates and their families and friends, as well as faculty, and staff of all faith traditions are invited to celebrate, according to the university. The Morning Undergraduate Degree Ceremony will honor more than 200 College of Aviation, Science and Technology, College of Business, and College of Humanities, Fine Arts and Communications degree recipients. During the ceremony, Vivian Kilias of Tinley Park will be recognized with the Father Aquinas Colgan Award for her transformation while earning bachelor's degrees secondary education and English degrees, the university said. Kendall Nicole Zavadovics will offer the Lasallian Address, sharing insights on the University Mission values of Knowledge and Association. The Naperville resident earned a bachelor's degree in marketing. The Afternoon Undergraduate Degree Ceremony will honor more than 200 College of Education and Social Sciences as well as College of Nursing and Health Sciences degree recipients, according to the university.
