Description

The Neal Taylor Nature Center at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara is happy to announce our re-opening on Sat. Nov. 21st, 2020 and every Sat. Here at the Neal Taylor Nature Center, the health and safety of our guests, staff and volunteers is our top priority, and we understand we must all do our part to contain the spread of COVID-19. For that reason, we have undergone stringent protocols and adjustments to safely re-open our nature center to the public and are pleased to announce our new process. We are excited to be "Booking Visits" for parties of 8 or less through Eventbrite and our Instagram and facebook pages. This new process will ensure the safety, social distancing requirements and enjoyment of all of our visitors. Visits will last no more than 25 minutes, more than enough time to learn and experience all the wonderful information about the the mission of the Neal Taylor Nature Center at Cachuma Lake which is to encourage public understanding, enjoyment, and protection of Cachuma Lake, the Upper Santa Ynez River, and the San Rafael Mountain Range Watershed and its natural inhabitants. Walk-up attendees can still come enjoy the Center but booked visits will take priority and are highly encouraged. Scheduled visits begin promptly at the hour and 30 minutes after the hour. Late attendees or no shows can and may lose their space to attendees or walk-ups that are present and accounted for, so try to be early or on time. Masks and social distancing required for everyone 3 and older. Parties of 8 or more please book your visits one 25 minute session after another. This event is FREE to all but if you are NOT camping at Lake Cachuma you will have to pay a vehicle day pass fee($10) at the entrance to Cachuma Lake Recreation Area which will allow you to enjoy all the park has to offer. We thrive on your donations and contributions so please feel free to add a donation to your booking today. Special needs, requests or accommodations please call 805-693-0691 or email us at [email protected].
