Student Charged After Verbally Threatening Oswego East High: Cops

OSWEGO, IL — A 17-year-old Oswego East High School student has been taken into custody after police say the teenager made a verbal threat, heard by students and staff, against the school while in a classroom Monday morning. The student was removed from the classroom and sent home pending an investigation after the threat, made around 10:05 a.m., police said. School administration called an on-duty school resource officer to report the incident around 12:45 p.m., according to law enforcement officials. Once an investigation concluded, Oswego police charged the student with one Class 4 felony count of disorderly conduct, a charge approved by the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office. The student was taken into custody at the Oswego Police Department around 7 p.m. Monday, and was taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center pending court proceedings.
