CONCORD, NH — A fugitive of the week, featured in May on numerous felony charges, was found and arrested in Florida on Monday, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. The fugitive task force had been searching for Marshall James Dimick, 31, after he was indicted in U.S. District Court on possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. A warrant was issued for his arrest in late March. Initially, Jeffrey White, a deputy marshal said, investigators were eyeing the Upper Valley and locations in both New Hampshire and Vermont, along the border, after receiving several tips. But, before being caught, Dimick fled the area, he said. "It wasn't until recently that new tips were received pointing to a relative's home in Cedar Key, Florida," White said. "This information was sent to our counterparts in the U.S. Marshals office in Gainesville, FL. Based on the information from the received tips, members of the U.S. Marshal's Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force went to Cedar Key, FL, this morning, where Mr. Dimick was located and arrested without incident." Dimick was taken to the Levy County Jail where he will be held as a U.S. Marshal's prisoner pending his initial court appearance at the U.S. District Court in Gainesville, FL, and then returned to New Hampshire. "Once again, we see that the 'Fugitive of the Week' program has an extensive reach," U.S. Marshal Nick Willard said. "Fugitives can flee across state lines or across the country and we still receive tips that lead to the arrest of these fugitives that truly believe that they can run away from their legal issues." According to superior court records, Dimick was arrested on drug dealing and weapon charges in Lebanon in July 2020. According to police, he was accused of being in possession of 550 bags of heroin, a .38 semi-automatic pistol, drug paraphernalia, and thousands of dollars in cash, after a traffic stop in Lebanon on Interstate 89 South. He was placed in pre-trial services but was accused of failing to comply in October 2020. He was released on a $5,000 bond in November 2020. In December 2020, he was placed in a residential treatment program, according to the court. Dimick was indicted on the charges in January. On Jan. 14, an arrest warrant was issued for "non-compliance of pre-trial services" and a second warrant was issued on Feb. 5, when he was accused of failure to appear at an arraignment. Dimick is a felon due to a guilty plea to falsifying evidence, child endangerment, and three acts prohibited; controlled drug act charges out of Enfield in September 2010. He also pleaded guilty to violation of probation in October 2012. Editor's note: This post was derived from information supplied by the U.S. Marshals Service and does not indicate a conviction.
