MARIN COUNTY, CA — A powerful "atmospheric river" over the weekend drenched Marin, with more than 9 inches of the wet stuff falling on Mount Tamalpais through early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Approximately 4.65 inches of rain fell on San Rafael, ABC News meteorologist Mike Nicco tweeted.

"Overall, there's a lot to like about this storm — a lot of beneficial rainfall that we desperately need," Peterson told the news outlet. "But it's not going to solve all of our multi-year drought woes in a single stroke."
More rain is possible this afternoon and this evening according to the NWS.
