FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — Bucks County Technical High School will see increased police presence after a threat was made to the school on the evening of Monday, Dec. 13. According to Dr. Leon Poeske, Administrative Director of the school, a vague threat was received by the school around 8:30 p.m. The school immediately alerted local authorities and notified students, staff and parents of the threat around 9:30 p.m. The initial threat came from someone who overheard a conversation regarding shooting up the school. Very few details have been reported or made public as of late. "As of 11 pm tonight, the police believe there is NO active threat made towards BCTHS," Poeske wrote in a statement published to the school's social media. Despite the nature of the threat, Bristol Township Police will remain on the school's grounds on Tuesday, Dec. 14. The threat comes after a week that saw several similar threats made to various Bucks County schools. Bristol Borough High School saw two threats over the course of two days, one on Monday, Dec. 6 and another made on Wednesday, Dec. 8. Snyder-Girotti Middle School also saw a threat on that same day, followed by a student bringing a hunting knife into William Penn Middle School on the same day.
