Location Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060. Job Summary Performs a variety of semi-skilled manual tasks and duties in support of all services provided by the department. Provides cleaning and general labor for assigned buildings, areas or locations. Maintains all carpeted and hard floor surfaces in assigned locations. Installs, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and tools. Responsibilities Operates commercial cleaning equipment to sweep, scrub, wax, strip and refinish/polish floors, and moves furniture before and after cleaning Operates commercial carpet cleaning equipment to extract and wet/dry vac carpet as needed Installs, operates, and maintains custodial and cleaning equipment Performs all custodial duties as required including cleaning inside glass windows, louvers, and partitions Performs high and low dusting of assigned area, furniture, doors, and windows Supports event operations by ensuring cleanliness of all reserved space and event setup requirements Assembles and disassembles event equipment to include chairs, tables, staging, flags, lecterns, and risers, etc. Maintains established standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all buildings and completes special projects as assigned Conducts supply inventory and weekly delivery of custodial supplies Responsible for replenishing cleaning chemicals Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Other Required Qualifications Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia driver's license Required Experience Two (2) years related work experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience Previous experience with floor maintenance and cleaning Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIES Ability to perform cleaning as instructed; Able to read and use diagrams and design layouts to set up for events; Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines KNOWLEDGE Mechanical and technical knowledge as it relates to the position; Knowledge of proper and safe use of all custodial equipment and chemicals; Knowledge of Materials Safety Data Sheets and Personal Protective Equipment, and awareness of safety protocols; Knowledge of extraction, stripping, and refinishing floors SKILLS Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills; Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite); Strong attention to detail and follow up skills; Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette Equal Employment Opportunity Kennesaw State University is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
