Here are the top stories in Phoenix today: Arcadia Fiesta, a shopping center at 32nd Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix, was sold to a Canadian investor for $41.65 million. Its former owner was based in Phoenix. The shopping center includes big national chains like Ross, Ace Hardware and O'Reilly Auto Parts. (AZ Big Media) The first six recorded cases of the omicron variant of the novel coronavirus in the Phoenix metro area have been detected. Those infected had not recently traveled outside the country, demonstrating that the omicron variant is circulating in Phoenix. Most of those infected with the variant were fully vaccinated. None of the people infected so far have become seriously ill. (KTAR.com) A fire in a north Phoenix apartment complex has displaced 25 people, half of them children. Nine units in the building were damaged by fire, water, heat, smoke or a combination of the four. One man sustained minor injuries to his hand in the fire. Firefighters contained the blaze to the attic area of the second floor before putting it out. The man couldn't get down on his own after his spikes and rope became stuck in the skirt of the tree. Crews used a bucket truck to rescue the man from the top of the tree. 🚒 (Facebook)A sweet dog named Hera came to the Arizona Humane Society several months ago with eight newborn puppies in tow.
