225 North Gate Blvd. near Struthers, Colorado Springs CO
Description
Do you enjoy telling stories from local history or teaching about science, history, or culture? How about exploring geology and the wonders of industry in the West? The Western Museum of Mining and Industry is looking for volunteer guides to lead guests through our exhibits and immerse them in the history of Colorado mining and the American Industrial Revolution. Guides share Colorado's mining and industry story--past and present--with the public by teaching, demonstrating, running machinery, and answering questions about this story. Morning and afternoon shifts are available as well as the opportunity to assist with school group tours and Steam camps.
Volunteers acquire new skills, meet interesting people and experience the satisfaction of sharing their talents with others.
Volunteers must be 18 and older and pass a background check. If you are interested in being a part of the history of Colorado, please contact the museum.
