Coonhound mix in need of new home

This is Piper. She is a spayed 2 year old Coonhound mix who needs a new home. Our family has gotten too big and we aren't able to care for her as well as we should. She is a very sweet and friendly dog. She enjoys spending time alone a lot of the time, but enjoys playing with others, especially with ropes or soccer balls. She loves to be outside, and prefers to be out as much as she can. She does alright with older children other dogs, but she would do best in a house with no children or other pets. She has food aggression with other dogs, but has never been mean to people with food. She is crate trained, potty trained and knows how to sit, but that's the extent of the training she has. She is overweight and out of shape but otherwise in good health. We have a vet appointment scheduled for the 23rd of December to have a general checkup and update her vaccines, but after that she will be ready to go home with a new family! We would like to meet any inquirers to be sure that Piper gets along well and that we trust the family. We are also asking for a $50 rehoming fee. We love this dog and are sad to see her go, but we want her to find a good family that will give her what she needs!
