Hello good people (but not other types), I'm looking to collaborate with some folks to create some meaningful music. I've listed some bands below that are interesting to me but am not so deluded to believe liking something is equivalent to creating it. Just trying to point out some reference points for what they're worth (possibly not much). I'm a 45yr old man married with two younger children so not looking to "make it." I have no expectations beyond just creating vulnerable music with good people. I play with two other "bands" but have more to contribute after not creating anything with anyone since high school. Maybe what I have to contribute is best suited for the trash heap but I'd like to explore due to some existential (midlife) crisis. Or maybe it's the pandemic putting an end to all other interests, and now I just have this and diligent usage of public transportation besides family interests (priority). I play guitar and like to make sounds that convey emotion to me. I like bridges and endings with payoffs. Pixies, Breeders, Walt Mink, Trip Shakespeare, Chastity Belt, Sugar, Future of the Left, Christian Fitness, early Slayer, the occasional hair metal ballad maybe.
