Job Description and Responsibilities For: PTP/PTmP Tech II This position reports to the PTP/PTmP Foreman. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits. The position is “Field-based”, therefore there is no specific work location. When not in the field, you will be considered “on rotation” and typically at home. Expect to be in multiple locations through the year. PTP/PTmP Tech II Job Description: t3 Broadband offers wireless network operators a variety of services such as PTP/PTmP Engineering, PTP/PTmP Equipment Installation and PTP/PTmP Commissioning, Civil Construction, Maintenance, and EF&I Services. As a Tech II you will be expected to follow your foreman and top hands lead on construction, installation, and maintenance of communication equipment. General: • Show a consistent track of successful projects completed on-time and on budget. • Pass pre-employment and random drug screens • Must possess a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a DOT medical exam • 3 to 5 years of communications work experience • Ability to work with a team(s) to perform a wide variety of technical telecommunications construction work • Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs. minimum • Must be able to pull your own body weight, plus equipment weight, up a vertical tower repeatedly for long periods of time • Must be willing to work long and unpredictable hours (10-hour days are not unusual) and travel out-of-state as necessary • Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions • Ability to work with computers and/or mobile devices for submitting Daily Work Reports, Close-Out-Packages and/or Time Sheets. Possess basic computer skills (i.e., E-mail, Excel, Word) Job Responsibilities Including, but not limited to: • May perform installs on radios, antennas, and associated RF equipment • Perform electrical down tilts and mechanical down tilts to a variety of antennas using supplied antenna controller units • Climbing communications structures, to include guyed; self-supporting; monopoles; building/rooftops; grain silos; etc. • Ability to follow daily instructions and shift reports • Ability to run jumpers as needed to complete ongoing scopes of work • Fill out required paperwork to include JSA • Able to do Cat 5/6 testing • Applies job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks • Basic understanding of D.C voltage • Basic fiber testing skills • RF jumper routing and using the proper hardware to secure to the tower • Full understanding of RFDS, Port Matrix, and CDs • Perform all civil work per plan on New Site Developments • Proper use and working knowledge of both antenna alignment tool and Anritsu to provide documents for the customer close out package Required Certifications: • OSHA 10 • RF Awareness • First Aid and CPR • Blood Borne Pathogen • Competent Climber and Rescue • DOT Medical Card • Authorized climber • Ability to obtain NWSA Level TTT-1 Other Relevant Information The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
