Position Summary: The position ensures the support, cultivation, and care of the park landscaping and public area surrounding the property. You would Plant, mow, pull weeds, repair/paint structures, fences, maintain outside of buildings, empty and clean garbage and recycle receptacles throughout the park. You set the tone for each guest who visits Oaks Park through your attitude and helps keep the midway areas neat and looking great. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities: * Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties. * Mowing by using a power mower or riding mower along with raking. * Use hand basic hand tools, blower, pruner, and edger around the property. * Plant and water flowers, grass, shrubs, trees, and bushes. * Apply pesticides, fertilizer, and mulch. * Perform routine maintenance such as repair and maintain picnic tables along with picnic areas. * Pressure wash buildings, asphalt, and other structures. * Repair sprinkler systems and minor repairs on park equipment. * Welcome and greet customers, answer questions and provide excellent customer service to contribute to an overall memory-making experience. * Inform Director, Manager(s), or foremen on duty of any significant concerns and problems. * Perform other work as assigned, which may not be listed above. These duties may change with or without notice. Qualifications: * Must be 18 years old or older. * Have a valid US Driver’s License Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Communicate and provide consistent, friendly, and helpful customer service to guests and all park employees. * Ability to follow all safety practices and use required safety equipment.. * Familiar with Chainsaws and other power cutting equipment. * Have welding (mig/arc) certification a plus. * Work independently and as part of a team. * Able to be on time when scheduled. Physical Demands: * Constantly using hands for grasping and holding objects necessary for performing duties. * Able to push and pull heavy equipment. * Able to climb on roofs/buildings, rides stairs, ladder, at heights of up to 75 feet. * Able to twist, bend, stoop, reach and or kneel. * Able to operate heavy equipment, forklift, drive a truck, and a golf cart * Able to push a mower, use a pressure washer, blower, string edger/trimmer. * Able to lift up to 75 pounds in place or move across a distance. * Able to walk 5 miles a day. * Able to be in an outside environment and stand for several hours at a time in all types of weather. Schedule: MUST be able flexible to work all shifts, days, evenings, weekends and holidays and the schedule fluctuates with seasonal needs. Wage: This is a full-time position and is considered nonexempt, which means you are eligible for overtime pay when over 40 hours are worked in a given week. Starting wage is $15.00 per hour.
