DCHoopStars Mentoring Program Kicks Off in January

Good afternoon, this is Tim Howard from EverythingSupa Inc. and I am writing to inform you of our new mentoring program called DCHoopStars. DCHoopStars is open to youth in DC in grades 7-12. We use basketball and various aspects of the game to keep them occupied and out of trouble, introduce them to various basketball related careers, build a strong circle of peers and adults that will help them build their self esteem and become better people. The program is a one year program and we meet multiple times a week for group sessions with the mentors, going to basketball games, and doing community service. To be in the program youth must also be a DC resident and have a 2.0 grade point average. Every mentee will get a free basketball, DCHoopStars tee shirt, personalized jersey, trading cards, posters, and free tickets to basketball games. We will have guest speakers come in to talk about their lives and careers in basketball whether players, coaches, agents, journalists etc. If you have a child that might be interested in the program, set up a day and time to do a virtual information session with them and the parent and get them into the program. We only have space for 20 kids so make sure you contact us as soon as possible by email I look forward to hearing from those interested in the program and working with the kids soon. We are also looking for 10 mentors. Mentors also get a tee shirt, free tickets to the games and a transportation stipend to cover your transportation to events and meetings.
