Description
This class will be in-person, located in the digital lab at Photographic Center Northwest and is limited to the first 12 registrations. All good prints begin with a good image. Regardless of the genre (landscape, portrait, street, astrophotography, pets, etc) or whether you prefer Color or B&W, if you are making time to make photographs, then you must absolutely consider making prints. Image selection connects with paper choice and final print size. Why select smooth vs textured papers vs glossy or luster? Warm, neutral or cool base tint papers? All are important considerations. Join Veronica Cotter, Education Development Manager, Hahnemühle USA and Sandy King, Digital Lab Lead, Photographic Center Northwest for a discussion about paper choice, the importance of profiles, color management and best practices. Sandy will lead participants in taking an image from screen to print, both color and B&W. Participants have the option to choose to print on both desktop and wide format printers to demonstrate display options. The goal is to increase your curiosity about papers and printing and your ability to make a beautiful print. Each participant will receive two 8.5x11 prints on Hahnemühle papers of their choice with the option to purchase additional prints. Editing workstations with calibrated monitors and Mac interface are provided for use with the option of personal laptop connection.
