Two days of walking in Maryland, DC and Virginia along and in support of the East Coast Greenway Walk all weekend with the FreeWalkers and the East Coast Greenway, along forty very colorful and scenic miles of the Greenway from College Park, Maryland through Washington and Alexandria to George Washington's Mount Vernon estate. This walking weekend centers on Old Alexandria, with its shopping, history, architecture and pleasant atmosphere. Special rates for hotel accommodations in Alexandria will be provided to registrants. SATURDAY 20 miles from College Park to Alexandria (The Metro from Alexandria will deliver us directly to our starting location.) SUNDAY 20 mile roundtrip from Alexandria to Mount Vernon and back This walk will benefit the East Coast Greenway Alliance, working to complete their grand trail of 3000 miles from Maine to Florida for walkers and cyclists. Join us as we get back out there and enjoy being walking tourists together once again. Our group is free and open to everyone. We encourage each member to accomplish challenging goals as we work together, experience, and promote pro-pedestrian issues. Paricipants accept responsibity for themselves on the walk.
