For this service, you will be able to register for socially distanced seating in the Sanctuary. Adults may register individually or as a family/group. Please identify each person who will attend in the Sanctuary.
The Dance of Darkness and Light at the Winter Solstice
How fortunate we are that we can gather in community—both in- person and on Zoom--as we approach the longest night of the year. The Winter Solstice offers us the opportunity to experience the darkness at its fullest—a time of rest and dreams and quiet renewal for the Earth and for ourselves. And from the darkest night comes the rebirth of the light—the inner light within each of us and the promise of a new day dawning. As the Beatles sang: “Here comes the sun . . . And I say it’s all right.”

Bio: Linda Webster has been a member of the Women’s Spirituality Group at the First Unitarian Universalist Church since 1984, as well as a member of the Labyrinth Team at Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church. You can find Linda in pagan circles, at Wheel of the Year seasonal celebrations, walking the labyrinth, and exploring Tarot. Linda is the organizer for BookWoman’s monthly series “Getting to Know the Goddess.”
Our Children and Youth Religious Education classes will NOT be meeting this Sunday. Children who are vaccinated are welcome in the sanctuary.
