Beltline and more You do not want to miss an opportunity to connect with fellow business owners and others in your surrounding community. We look forward to seeing you there!Thank You!The PACC Officers Why did we choose the Rails & Trails name? Before southwest Atlanta developed into the neighborhoods that exist today, the area was once a rural outlier of a city in its infancy as a transportation hub. The history of West End, Westview, and Adair Park were very much shaped by the original lines of transportation that existed like stage coaches, the early streetcars, and the heavy rail lines that once looped the city to form the Atlanta BeltLine. These southwest Atlanta neighborhoods only began to develop as suburbs once Atlanta began developing as a city. Restoring Our Legacy... Pittsburgh is a neighborhood of Atlanta, Georgia, founded in 1883 as a black working-class suburb alongside the Pegram rail shops. It was named Pittsburgh because the industrial area reminded one of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and its famous steel mills. Adair Park is a residential neighborhood located southwest of downtown Atlanta. It has the form of a left curly bracket, bordered by the MARTA north-south rail line on the northwest, the BeltLine trail on the southwest and Metropolitan Parkway on the east. Capitol View is an in-town Atlanta neighborhood 2.5 miles from downtown Atlanta, Georgia that was named for its excellent view of the Georgia State Capitol building. Its boundaries include Metropolitan Parkway to the east, Lee Street to the west, and the Beltline to the north. Capitol View Manor is a small community in Southwest Atlanta that was named for the excellent view of the Georgia State Capitol building. Its boundaries include I-75/85 to the east, the Beltline to the north, Metropolitan Parkway to the west, and Atlanta Technical College to the south. We make space for artists to take risks, be curious, and create brilliant and challenging work reflective of our city.We know that providing space and resources for artists means constantly staying aware of the ways artists and their communities are disproportionately affected by racial discrimination, socioeconomic disparities, and state violence. In the past, MINT actively contributed to inequality in the arts in a multitude of ways, like not having a Black Leap Year artist until 2018 and failing to prioritize annual collaborations with Black-led arts organizations. We will not make these mistakes again. Words of support without real-world application are just empty platitudes, and therefore, we vow to commit to a culture of action. In order to stay true to our mission, we present this transparent list of steps that MINT will take to ensure that artists are protected, honored, and championed: FitSquad's mission is to create an affordable Small Business Wellness Program for our partnering businesses.
