Description
My band just broke up and I am looking for a new collaborative project. Either joining an existing band to fill a gap, starting a new one from scratch, or just joining up with a solo singer-songwriter to help flesh out some songs. Looking to play original songs rather than all covers (but the occasional cover is always fun). I play bass, guitar (kind of a hybrid rhythm/lead style - I'm not a shredder but I enjoy busting out the occasional soaring solo), some synth/keys for texture/atmosphere. I've got a good sense of arrangements and try to write parts that suit the song instead of just for the sake of showing off my musicianship. I'm looking to be actively performing and playing shows rather than solely contributing to a studio project, and I'm down to play anywhere - my last band played Gman Tavern, a bar in Rockford, basements in Logan Square etc. I own all my own gear, I show up prepared and on time and have a good attitude (I think!) - I will always share my ideas but will defer to the group consensus if people want to take it in a different direction. That's half the fun of collaborating! Style-wise, I'm pretty flexible, but looking for something in the broader indie-rock kind of universe. I like to get heavy but it's not a necessity. Can go folky/alt-countryish, psychedelic/shoegazy, old school rock and roll, etc. I live in Andersonville and share a practice space with some other folks at Superior/California, happy to travel to other areas to play but I don't have a car so prefer to keep on the north side for rehearsals. If you think I might be a good fit for your project, hit me up! If you've got samples of songs you can share, great, if not, tell me what your vision is for the project and we'll see if we can make it work! The link below should take you to a folder with some samples of my recent work - solo, one-off collaborations, and full-band efforts. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/111HiuPTceJ7W4Ce0nNOq1uThBCRNdeDB?usp=sharing Palomino - demos from my last band, I played bass on these and had a hand in arrangements and songwriting Pantwins - a few covers recorded with my partner - I play all instruments, arranged, recorded, mixed etc. The Peregrine Effect - all songs written, arranged, recorded, mixed etc. by me Wired To The Night - demo from an instrumental metal project that fizzled out when the pandemic hit. Co-wrote, played bass, recorded, mixed by me Bonus: here's a clip from our Gman show, I'm in the middle on bass. I'm also triggering the synth sounds using a midi convertor on my pedalboard, it's a fun little gimmick but I'm cautious not to over-use it. https://vimeo.com/573650292
