Police Identify Victim In Saugus Weekend Homicide

SAUGUS, MA — The victim of a homicide that happened Saturday night in Saugus has been identified by the Essex District Attorney's Office. On Monday, authorities named Michael Norton, 26, as the victim of the fatal incident at the Essex Landing apartment complex. Around the same time Norton was identified, WCVB reported police arresting a man after a short pursuit that ended with a car crash in front of a home on Gilway Street in Saugus. WCVB reported sources at the scene saying the suspect was believed to be connected to the homicide. Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli says Norton was found dead at his home at 44 Collins Ave. by family members Sunday. Police say the investigation is ongoing and have not said how Norton died.
