DANVERS, MA — With seasonal blood shortages continuing to be exacerbated during the coronavirus health crisis, donations are as important as ever.
On Wednesday, St. John's Prep will host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Danvers campus. Junior Nick Rizos, who organized two blood drives during the pandemic in Danvers last winter, helped put this one together as well.
The @RedCross will be on the Prep's campus for a blood drive from 8 am to 1 pm in Memorial Gym on Wednesday, December 15. Your donation is critical this time of year! A special thank you to Nick Rizos '23 for organizing this blood drive on our campus. https://t.co/r9jVGjpBPI— St. John's Prep (@stjohnsprep) December 13, 2021 Rizos organized his first blood drive at the Danversport Yacht Club last February and had planned a second one for the school in the spring.
"This was a personal thing," he told Patch in February. "It's really about just spreading the word about the need for blood and helping in a time that's needed."
Appointments for Wednesday can be scheduled here.
