Loudoun County, VA (December 10, 2021) –The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating the suicide of an inmate at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center (ADC) Thursday. A preliminary investigation and video surveillance show the inmate jumping from the second tier of a general population housing unit, landing headfirst on the floor. LCSO Deputies and medical personnel at the ADC immediately responded and provided emergency medical treatment. Loudoun County rescue personnel arrived and provided additional lifesaving efforts. He was pronounced deceased by Loudoun County rescue personnel. The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. on December 9, 2021. The inmate, 70-year-old Vildan Jahja of Ashburn, had been incarcerated at the Loudoun ADC since April 19, 2021, on domestic violence-related charges. His death is under investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and the Office of the Medical Examiner. ###
