LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — A trio of assaults were reported over the weekend in Loudoun County, the sheriff's office said in their report. The assaults, which took place in Aldie, Sterling, and Ashburn, led to charges for two people so far. The first assault occurred around 2 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11. The incident occurred in the 44800 block of Rivermont Terrace in Ashburn, according to the police report. There, a victim told police that he was assaulted in the parking lot by a stranger. The victim said the suspect was a Black man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, yellow Timberland boots, and black pants. The victim was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, police said. The second assault of the weekend occured in Aldie on Saturday evening. Around 7:30 p.m., deputies responded for a reported assault in the 25100 block of Mineral Springs Circle. A victim told authorities that she was assaulted by a man that she knew. The victim also claimed that the man prevented her from contacting law enforcement after the assault. Eventually, she was able to escape and call for help. Jay Graven, a 48-year-old man from Aldie, was arrested and charged with kidnapping, assault, and destroying a phone with the intent to prevent the summoning of law enforcement. He was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and held without bond. Another assault was reported in Sterling on Sunday afternoon. There, a woman told police that a man she knew assaulted her, according to the police report. Authorities determined that the man forced the victim into a room and struck her several times. When family members of the victim arrived, the man picked up a knife and attempted to stab one of them, the sheriff's office claimed in their report. Andrade Arguta was arrested and charged with assault, kidnapping, malicous wounding, and attempted malicious wounding. He was taken to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and held without bond. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for her injuries. Other less violent incidents were also reported over the weekend and were included in the sheriff's office report. At Broad Run High School, a school official reported that someone had vandalized the football field. White spray paint was used on the football field's fence and ticket booth, according to the report.
