Here are the top stories today in Burlington: A commercial plane was forced to make an emergency landing at the Burlington International Airport during a weekend windstorm. A United Airlines aircraft carrying 44 passengers and crew members from the Washington Dulles Airport declared the emergency just before midnight Saturday. The plane made a safe landing at about 12:30 a.m. on Sunday and remained grounded for the rest of the night. (WCAX)The library in Vermont's largest city is opening another branch in the north end of Burlington. The pilot library branch will be at the Ethan Allen Shopping Plaza, about three miles from Fletcher Free Library's main location downtown. A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday; Mayor Miro Weinberger is expected to speak at the event.
