WANTED: Lead guitarist for Folk-Rock, Blues, Country, Classic-Rock foursome w/a clean, original sound. We are a newly formed group of mature, pro players with a solid rhythm section including lead and backup vocals and would like to round it out with a guitarist that loves their instrument and knows when not to play it. If you’re looking for a place to land - perhaps you’re the one. This is a supportive environment and our intension is to be flexible yet sound tight. Please be comfortable playing traditional country and blues licks including intros, outros and double-stops. For an example: Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” and “Third Rate Romance” by The Amazing Rhythm Aces. We’re not married to playing it like the record, but the original recording is always a good place to start. Harmonies are a plus, but not required. We’re looking to play out a time or two a month in the Santa Cruz area including: private parties, casual and special events, outdoor gatherings, wineries ‘n breweries. Quality gigs. This is a good fit for a local, player that likes a nice blend of listening music with danceable rockers. We practice once a week, or so, on Thursday evenings in Soquel. We have plenty of quality gear in a plug ‘n play studio. A casual attitude is great, but keeping your word and communicating in a timely manner is equally important. Passive 420 is fine before or after as long as it doesn’t affect your playing or decision making, but please leave the politics and the alcohol at the door.
