JOLIET, IL — A 26-year-old Joliet man is now in the Will County Jail after he got into a fight in the parking lot of Bobby's Tap on Plainfield Road and retrieved a gun during the scuffle, according to police. The incident happened around 2 a.m. Monday.
Officers put George Sikic in handcuffs and arrested him on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Sikic lives in the 600 block of Oakview Court, jail logs show.
Just a few minutes before 2 a.m., Joliet police went to Bobby's Tap at 1107 Plainfield Road after learning of a disturbance involving a gun.
"Officers determined that Sikic became involved in an argument with another male adult while in the parking lot of Bobby's Tap," police spokesman Dwayne English announced. "Sikic and the other male began shoving each other at which time Sikic retrieved a .40 handgun from his vehicle in an attempt to scare the male."
Police reports indicate that Sikic slipped and fell, dropping the gun on the ground. The other man involved in the confrontation secured the gun for police, authorities said.
Sikic has a valid Firearm Owner's Identification card, but he does not have an Illinois Concealed Carry license, Joliet police said.
Sikic was placed into custody without any problems and his bail was set at $10,000 on Monday, jail records reflect.
