PHOENIX, AZ — Three pedestrian men were killed over the weekend when they were hit by cars, according to Phoenix police. The men who died were Kim Lee Thurmond, 69, Ryan Rapanot, 26, and James O'Connor, 60. Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Rapanot was hit by a vehicle after walking into the road and laying down near the intersection of 19th Avenue and Glendale Avenue, according to police. The vehicle that hit Rapanot did not stop and left the scene before police arrive, according to a news release from Phoenix Police. Kim Lee Thurmond was cross the road around 3:50 a.m. Saturday, near the intersection of 32nd Street and Thomas Road, when he was struck by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries, according to police. He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to police. Around 6 p.m. Sunday, James O'Connor fell or stumbled into the street near the intersection of 7th Street and Bell Road, according to police. A vehicle headed west on Bell Road struck O'Connor when he fell, police said. He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries where he was pronounced dead.
