Meal Plant Operator I Live and work in Beautiful Dutch Harbor, Alaska! Assist in basic operating techniques of the Meal Plant. Perform equipment maintenance and repair associated with fish meal production. Responsible for having a firm knowledge of plant layout and production flow. Essential Duties • Know the startup, shut down and operating procedures of the Meal Plant. • Perform timely repair and maintain a wide variety of equipment associated with fish meal production while during production periods and between seasons. • Coordinate production with UniSea’s production operations to maintain consistent flow of product. • Identify both immediate and long-range problems. Investigate and assist in solution process and implementation. • Monitor temperature and pressure gauges. Make timely and accurate decisions based on meter, gauge, and temperature readings. Identify and correct any change parameters. • Assist in supervising warehouse personnel and operator helpers with a variety of tasks including cleaning of equipment. • Know basic functions of computer and Microsoft office to log hourly data into computer. • Ensure all work tasks are documented utilizing UniSea’s work order record keeping system. Provide well-arranged documentation of work tasks and contribute to the overall preventative maintenance program. • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company policy by closely monitoring the safe use of equipment and work habits in and around the work area. Responsible for staying updated on current company policies as they relate to safety. Pay rate: $17.00 ($25.5 OT rate) - $22.15 ($33.22 OT rate) per hour DOE. This position is eligible for Overtime pay, overtime in Alaska is paid after 8 hours in a day AND after 40 hours a week. UniSea’s highest priority is the safety and well-being of its employees.
