Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot Serious inquiries only!! Hello! We are rehoming our Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot, Cheeks. We have had Cheeks in our family since 2018 after rescuing her from an animal hoarding situation. Cheeks requires a lot of love and attention that, unfortunately, my family is no longer able to provide anymore. We believe that Cheeks is a female and that her wings have been clipped but that doesn’t stop her from trying to take off. We prefer that she goes to an experienced bird owner who can offer her the care that she needs. She will be your life-long friend as she is a young parrot with many, many years ahead of her, so make sure that you are prepared for that. Cheeks knows a few words that she uses often such as, “mama” “hello” bye-bye”. She will whistle a lot and really enjoys it when you whistle along with her. Cheeks loves to sing and dance to any type of music but she seems to enjoy Opera music the most. Cheeks’ all-time favorite snack is unsalted peanuts and she is also a huge fan of spaghetti, or any type of noodles! One of her favorites? Dried fruit!! Cheeks knows the phrase, “step up” as her command to step up on to your arm or perch. Ever since Cheeks arrived at our home she has been easily startled and terrified of hands coming towards her which we assume is trauma from a previous owner. She will also have a bit of a screaming fit when she becomes bored, isn’t given attention or stressed out. With my daughter, husband, and I all having full-time jobs now, we are unable to give Cheeks the time, training, and attention that she needs and desires to overcome her fears. Cheeks is a very sweet parrot who will give you kisses, hang out on the couch with you, and will whistle at you to let you know you are looking good! We are desperately looking for a loving, caring, and experienced new home for Cheeks to thrive in. We are asking for a rehoming fee, which includes a cage, food and water bowls, a few toys, a bag of peanuts, and a bag of bird food that she is currently eating.
