Experienced childcare/tutoring

Kids

W Burnside near Vista, Portland OR

Description

I will be available to provide childcare to children 2 years or older, beginning December 27th, on a regular or occasional basis. At my place, or yours. (Including New Year's Eve and Day!) I am NOT usually available on the weekends, as I volunteer with orchestras, dance, film, and theater organizations. I taught pre-school through 3rd grade for many years. I have shelves & closets full of books, art/science supplies, and enjoy to do simple cooking and gardening projects with children. I'm able to work on reading, writing, math, and spelling skills. I believe it's healthy for children to play outside every day; taking a walk, going to a playground, or practicing basic sports skills in a park. Field trips benefit children greatly, so I would be glad to catch a bus with them (from my place?) or drive them in your car the zoo, OMSI, art museum, music events, plays, library, etc. (Sorry I am not able to drive non-family members in my vehicle.) I passed the background check to have an Oregon Teaching License and to be registered with a local nanny agency, have taken the Red Cross First Aid Course, and Food Handler's Course. I would prefer to work 3/4 days a week, for a total of 20-30 hours. (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday would be my top choice of days-off.) But I have a lot of flexibility during the coming months, and could work full time. My rates begin at $10/hour, if your child(ren) come to my place in Goose Hollow by Washington Park and the Vista Bridge. If you want me to pack up supplies and travel to your place, rates would be $15-20/hour. I prefer to work with one or two covid-conscious families. If it is a pod-tutoring situation with school-age children (K-3rd grade), I would be willing to work with 3 families. Thanks!
