Some of the best pets we've ever had were a pair of rabbits I got my boys for Easter. I don't know why you think this is such a crime. We have many precious memories of them growing up and their antics! Love the way they can be just sitting still and all of a sudden jump and flip in the air. They were let out of their ouside cages everyday to hop around and explore in our privacy fenced yard almost every day, flipping in mid-air as they desired. Lol I sat outside with them or the boys were outside with them to watch for cats that might come over the fence and into our yard. Their cages were wrapped in clear plastic tarp, which went down to the ground, in the winter time. And we carried fresh water bottles to them 2 or 3 times a day during freezing weather. In the summer, they got frozen water bottles to lay against. They were given washed romaine lettuce, carrots, apples or grapes everyday as a treat. They had babies, which we dearly loved and found good homes for. After that they had separate cages as we didn't know we had a male and female before. Lol It's all well and good to worry about neglected holiday pets, I guess. But what about those who are dearly loved for the rest of their lives? You seem to judge and don't think about all the good pet owners out here.
