Take the fear out of finishing! This series teaches everything you need to know to apply the perfect finish to just about any woodworking project. This first class in the series focuses on the most important step: laying the foundation for a flawless finish by properly preparing the wood. Topics include sanding, filling pores with grain fillers, and how to sharpen and use the finisher’s secret weapon: the card scraper. (Once you use a scraper, you might never want to use sandpaper again!) Additional classes in this series will meet on the afternoon of the second Wednesday of the month.Safety Measures We’re Taking to Keep You SafeSocial Distancing - All of our classes have a low capacity of attendees and will allow for social distancing. Sanitization - Our classrooms, seating areas, and tools are cleaned and disinfected before and after every class. We also have hand sanitizer and disinfectant available to be used during all classes. Masks - Masks are only required to be worn if required by local ordinances. If you prefer to wear a mask, you can bring your own. If you forget to bring a mask we can provide one free of charge. Gloves - Gloves will be provided free of charge if any classes require tools to be shared by multiple attendees during the same class. [email protected] or call your local store. Are there any age requirements to participate in the class? This class is only for attendees, who are 18 years of age or older. To schedule a class for an attendee, who is under the age of 18, please contact your local store for details. Do I need any safety equipment or special clothing? Safety glasses will be provided free of charge. No loose clothing should be worn, long sleeves need to be rolled up, long hair needs to be tied back. No open-toed shoes can be worn during classes. Can I cancel if I can't make it? If you wish to cancel, you must do so 7 days before the class start date in order to be eligible for a refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations within 7 days of the class start date. Refunds will not include Eventbrite's fees.
