This course will be taught by Matt Moran-Associate Director of The Catholic Center Calvert House at the University of Chicago. This 7 week course is part of the Institute for Pastoral Leadership Lay Leadership, year 1 curriculum and is available for non-registered students to audit. As such, this course will not require homework assignments to be turned in. This course will cover Humanity's response to God's revelation being the Creed; the basic "rule of faith" that tells us the content of the Catholic Faith.  Central to Christianity is belief in the Trinity. .  After a study of God's inner life, the course turns to Christ, the Way, the Truth and the Life.  It considers the Incarnation, the Passion, Cross and Resurrection, Ascension and Second Coming.  Finally, the course explores the work of the Holy Spirit, the nature and mission of the Church, Mary and the Last Things. Introduction to Catholic Doctrine will be held on Mondays from 7:00-9:00 PM at St. Hyacinth Basilica from 1/10/2022-2/21/2022. Refund policy: Cancellations made up to 1/7/2022 will be subject to a cancellation fee of $50.00. Cancellations made on 1/8/2022 or later are non-refundable. COVID exceptions may apply.
