The Black Family Xmas Movie Fest is spreading holiday cheer & caring for our neighbors in need by creating community & telling Black stories The end of the year can mean many things for many people. For some, the holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year, full of fire, friends, and good cheer. For others, it can be the coldest season, a reminder of what and whom they've lost, or what they've never had. Both experiences are gifts to be shared, and in doing so, we create the warmth of community. As we enter our second holiday season of the pandemic, The Black Family Xmas Movie Fest is a container to share and receive joy and love, especially in hard times. About the Features: Kola is a re-envisioned version of The Nutcracker through the lens of African and Afro-Latinx music, dance, theater, and culture reflecting the lives of Black and Brown children socially, politically, and spiritually in modern-day Oakland. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey is the Christmas movie we all deserve! Follow Journey, Jeronicus, and Buddy on a magical adventure where love heals all hurts and anything is possible, if we just believe! All warm things, food, and toy donations will be given to the East Oakland Collective. Due to COVID all items must be *new*. Other Elements of the Day: Afro Steampunk Soul Train Line!!!
