JOIN THE CCADT FOR OUR ANNUAL NEW VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT / TRAINING EVENT IN 2022!
Over the past several years, wildfire disasters have become more prevalent throughout California. More than ever, volunteer help is needed to help save our Central Valley's animals during fire season.
The Central CA Animal Disaster Team is pleased to announce our new intensive volunteer team training program. This weekend training will teach you the basic skills needed to respond in our counties that we serve.
Beginning in 2022, this three-day training program is the ONLY recruitment event for new volunteers being offered in our counties of Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Merced and Kings. Another training program will be offered in Kern County in March. Must be 18 years or older to attend.
During this training, you will meet current volunteers and hear speakers from emergency response agencies. Training topics include, but are not limited to*:
Coordination with emergency response agenciesHelping Red Cross clients and their companion petsAnimal Evacuation & Shelter-In-Place CareWildland Fire SafetyEmergency Animal ShelteringSafe Handling of Small/Large AnimalsIncident Command SystemTrailer Hauling SafetyThis is training program is FREE to the public. Minimum age: 18 years old. Registration is required. If your schedule changes and you are unable to attend, please cancel as there may be a waitlist. Deadline to register: January 21, 2022.
