Gracie is a rescue who had been living on the street, she's street savvy. She is shy, submissive, timid but will approach slowly for a treat. Hesitant of men. Loves other dogs. She's medium-sized, 25 pounds.
Our sister, Kristen Steglich, adopted her and they've been best friends. Gracie is Kristen's emotional support dog. Kristen is a medical social worker that works as a support for families of children with cancer. Gracie has been Kristen's support when she comes home from the heavy emotional demands of that job and through the isolation of the pandemic.
On Saturday, Kristen was attending the funeral of one of the children who was her patient. The child was a dog lover and had requested that everyone bring their dogs to her funeral. While there Kristen fell and broke her ankle and sustained severe injuries that will require surgery. A co-worker at the funeral took Kristen to the hospital and Gracie home. In the process of transferring Gracie into her home, Gracie broke free and bolted from the co-worker.
We are asking for your help in sharing and posting the information about Gracie. Kristen needs to know that she is okay in order to sleep and heal. Anything that you can do to get the word out to find Gracie would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you SO MUCH!
