LITTLETON, CO — Six people were hospitalized Sunday after a house fire in Littleton, South Metro Fire Rescue said. All are in stable condition, according to fire officials. People who were inside the home reported an explosion that knocked out the windows, according to South Metro Fire. Crews found the fire in the basement of the home and were ventilating the house. They used thermal imaging cameras to monitor the heat and smoke coming from the basement. Investigators were unable to determine the exact ignition source, but they have confirmed there was a gas leak in the home before the explosion, officials said. The southbound lanes of Broadway were closed near Orchard Road while the investigation was underway. One lane SB Broadway has been reopened to traffic. @XcelEnergyCO crews, @CityofLittleton Police and SMFR Investigators will remain on scene to continue their investigation and to help with traffic control.
