Gasoline Spill Reported At Concord Route 106 Shell Station

CONCORD, NH — Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to Sheep Davis Road for a report of gas that turned out to be a spill on Saturday. At just before noon, firefighters were sent to Route 106 and North Pembroke Road to investigate a gas odor. A few minutes after the call came in, dispatch clarified that it was not a natural gas odor but a gasoline odor which was reported by a resident. "Check the Shell station," a dispatcher said. "Maybe there is a delivery or something." Sure enough, when firefighters investigated, they discovered the gas odor was due to an overfill in an underground tank. Firefighters spread speedy dry but the fire commander requested more to absorb the overfill. Firefighters also contacted the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services to come to the gas station to inspect the spill.
