Culver City Crossroads December 10, 2021 The Wende Museum's online interview series "Cold War Spaces" will be concluded with Joes Segal's 53rd and final guest Maya Balakirsky Katz, Associate Professor of Jewish Art at Bar-Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel, and author of Drawing the Iron Curtain: Jews and the Golden Age of Soviet Animation. The program will focus on the "golden age" of Soviet animation, the relative space for free expression within Soviet culture, the astounding contribution of Jewish artists in Soviet animation, and their international impact on the Disney Studios and the Western world in general. "Animation Space: Multinationalism and the Animation Industry" is a 30-minute interview followed by 15 minutes Q&A. Wednesday, December 15 at 12 p.m. PST via Zoom webinar.
