West Michigan Jewels Of Africa LLC. (WMJOA LLC.) traditional African Drum and Dance Group invites you the community to the village to get “festive” on, and stroll Eastern St SE. Experience , supporting, learning, shopping, fellowshipping, enjoying and absorbing all the Black Owned Businesses during the Kwanzaa holiday celebration festival week. WMJOA LLC. will host a free outdoor public candle lighting ceremony, libation with Ancestral call interaction of Nguzo Saba the seven principles adopted, one will be explored each evening beginning at 6pm at the One Stop Culture Shop, located at 1541 Eastern SE. Grand Rapids, Mi. 49507 There will be Zawadi = gifts, giveaways and educational participatory entertainment. Kwanzaa is a seven-day non-religious holiday observed in the United States. This holiday was created and celebrated by African Americans in 1966 to honor African heritage in African-American culture, promoting pride and access to buying Black. The nightly entertainment is a surprise you don’t want to miss. The Karamu - feast will be celebrated on New Year’s Eve, the sixth day. The “Soul Stroll” is an invitation to browse, shop, learn, fellowship and celebrate while supporting the small businesses that are the very heartbeat of Midtown Grand Rapids, Mi. The stroll for BOB will begin at Eastern and Wealthy St. 49503 and continue thru 36th St. 49507.
